2024 FEDERAL TAX FORMS

In February 2023, the IRS issued a new regulation mandating Electronic Filing for entities that file more than 10 information returns in a calendar year. This was a long-anticipated reduction in the e-filing threshold, which was previously set at 250 forms. The 10 or more threshold applies to the total number of Federal Tax forms filed in the calendar year regardless of form types.

2024 UPDATE FOR 1099 FORMS

The IRS has updated forms by replacing Copy C (also known as the Filer/Payer/Trustee/ Lender Copy), with Copy 2 and/or Copy 1 - these forms are now designated as multi-use forms and used as a Record Copy and/or an additional copy to the payee.

Paper Copies to Recipients, Payees, Employees, and record copies are still required.
