2026 FEDERAL TAX FORMS

In February 2023, the IRS issued a new regulation mandating Electronic Filing for entities that file more than 10 information returns in a calendar year. The 10 or more threshold applies to the total number of Federal Tax forms filed in the calendar year regardless of form types.

2026 UPDATE FOR 1099 FORMS

Format Change NEC1099

The IRS has updated the Standard 1099NEC Form to a 2 per page form for 2026 (previous years this has been a 3 per page form). New envelope will be needed - item 7777.

If you print to blank stock, and last year's NEC1099's printed one recipient per page with three copies (COPY B/COPY 2/COPY 2) you may want to check with your software provider to see if the form layout with change for 2026.
